Parents should know
Strong violence: a man is decapitated, another's hand hacked off, a cop hammered to death. A gangster-and-sex-worker romance retelling Devdas, with graphic, sustained violence, torture and gunplay throughout, a trafficking survivor's backstory, casual drinking and smoking, and themes of standing up for the exploited — critics call it uncompromisingly brutal. Also strong scary or upsetting scenes, moderate sexual content, moderate bad language and moderate substance use.

Parents ask
Answered from the record below — the certificate, the board’s cut list, and what reviewers documented.
Is DC OK for kids?
Filmi puts DC at 18+ — suitable for 18 and over. The CBFC certified it A. That comes from the certificate and from what reviewers documented, not from anyone at Filmi watching the film — every claim on this page is quoted with its source.
What age is DC suitable for?
18+, based on the CBFC rating of A. 5 of the five content-warning categories are documented for this film.
What content should parents know about in DC?
What the record shows: violence — strong; language — moderate; sex or nudity — moderate; drink or drugs — moderate; frightening scenes — strong. A category left blank means nobody documented it, not that the film is clean — the full record, quoted with sources, is on this page.
Did the censor board cut anything from DC?
The CBFC certified it A with no published cut list. That is not the same as the film being uncut — only that no modification was published.
