A 0–100 critic score built by reading every review we can find. Each review gets one Filmi reading on the same 0–100 scale — whether or not the critic printed a number — and the Filmi Score is the mean of those readings. Printed stars are coarse and scale habits differ wildly between a fan channel and a broadsheet; one rubric reading across every review, language and scale is the whole point.
The critic’s own rating, where one exists, is shown first and largest on its review row — it’s theirs — with our reading beside it, labelled. It is never averaged into the score. Every number is normalised to 0–100 for display: a 3/5 shows as 60.
A film shows no score until at least three readings exist, and the score is marked provisional (dashed badge) until there are five. The film page lists every review behind the number, each with its outlet, critic, date and a link to the original.
Some of India’s best critics never publish a number — deliberately. Our reading is derived from what the critic actually wrote, along with a one-paragraph paraphrase of their position. A reading is always labelled, carries a distinct dashed treatment, and is never presented as something the critic said — where the critic gave a number, both are on the row, and the score is auditable line by line.
Any critic or outlet can opt out. Their reviews then appear as “reviewed — no score, read it here” and stop feeding the aggregate.
The anchor is the CBFC certificate (U · U/A 7+ · U/A 13+ · U/A 16+ · A), turned into a minimum age. On top of it sit five content flags — violence & gore, language, sex & nudity, substances, frightening/intense — each rated 0–3 from documentary sources only: the board’s own itemised cut list, the BBFC’s classification notes, and reviewers’ explicit on-record warnings. Every flag carries its citation.
We haven’t watched the films. A blank flag means nobody documented it — which is not the same as clean, and we’d rather show you the gap than fill it with a guess.
